Exploring the critical role school business professionals play as part of the senior leadership team

The event took place on Tuesday 9 March and bought together senior school leaders (headteachers, deputies, school business professionals, governors and trustees) from across the sector to engage in a practical discussion about the critical role that school business professionals (SBPs) play as part of the senior leadership team and possible barriers to SBPs involvement at SLT.

There was a roundtable discussion that reflected on the impact of the pandemic and how this has further illuminated the role of the SBP at a national level, as well as workshop sessions delivered by key players in the sector.

ISBL, NAHT and NGA recognise the critical need for all senior school leader and business professionals to be present during strategic discussions and decision making. The discussion will lead to the development of a thought-leadership paper published on the partners’ websites and shared widely with members and the sector during Summer 2021.
