School Business Professionals (SBPs) how do you ensure that you maintain your knowledge and can confidently offer your advice to the senior leadership team?

Attend an ISBL regional conference and reflect on your own practice and that of your school colleagues, gain new knowledge through content tailored to your needs, connect with other colleagues and challenge your approach.

With demands on our time growing, little time for reflection, and the onslaught of digital technology meaning we are always available, there is no better time to reinvest in face-to-face events at one of ISBL’s regional conferences

There is no time to coast in the education sector, because we face continued changes and challenges in relation to our use and deployment of resources. In this constantly moving environment, how do you ensure that you maintain your knowledge and can confidently offer your advice to the senior leadership team?

With this growing pressure on school business professionals (SBP) to be the local specialist in all areas of professional standards, we have developed a conference programme with the theme 'Excellence in Resource Management' that covers the demands that 2019 will bring including:

  • developing break-even budgets without impacting on frontline resources – how to really get under the bonnet

  • managing the growing costs of the school workforce – a surgery on actual performance and restructure issues

  • using the apprentice levy and accessing local-approved learning providers

  • audit preparation – how to be prepared

  • the real cost of people – supporting pensions and retirement

  • educating trustees and governors – ensuring those responsible for governance understand their financial responsibilities.

*The conference programme is subject to change at any time.  We will endeavor to accommodate special dietary requirements but an additional charge may be incurred.
