Institute of School Business Leadership (ISBL) Regional Conference - Wednesday 7 February 2018 - London
Our regional conferences allow school business professionals to engage in a rich and meaningful dialogue, peer to peer, about how they can improve the life chances of children and deliver a world-class education system.
The events are solely focused on school business leadership, whereby all content is tailored specifically to the audience and is underpinned by our Professional Standards (link to standards). The content will focus on the main issues and opportunities each professional discipline will be presented with in the coming year.
Therefore, the theme of this year’s regional conferences is Confidently approaching change, covering the continuing growth of school structures and increased specialist roles, the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulations from May 2018, how to grow your school’s brand identity and how to successfully secure additional funding.
It is evident that the complexity of school business leadership will continue to expand and ISBL will support our members by providing the assistance and career development required to professionally and confidently approach the coming changes.
The 2018 conferences will also benefit from a plenary delivered by Steven Gasser, our new Executive Director of Professional Development. He will share his vision for the profession and how the Institute of School Business Leadership will:
- Raise the profile of school business professionals, demonstrating peer parity with other professional sectors
- Guarantee that the standards meet the needs of the profession, their employers and their schools
- Recognise the contribution that our members have made, continue to make, and will make in the future
During the day there will be the opportunity for delegates to receive career advice from the Professional Development Surgery that will be supported by the ISBL team who can advise on the latest school business leadership programmes available.
Finally, each of the regional conferences are planned to allow for a small exhibition to run alongside the one-day event, providing delegates with an opportunity to meet suppliers face-to-face and assist in the procurement cycle.

*Please note that places for members will be allocated on a first come first served basis and numbers are strictly limited to one place per membership. Please note that from 1 January 2018 we will be introducing a supplement for members to attend regional conferences. Those bookings made before this date will not be receive this charge. A cancellation charge of £39 will apply where members do not attend and do not provide 14 days’ notice to NASBM, where they have not paid a supplementary charge.
