Archery GB - Project Rimaya

Archery GB are looking for Secondary Schools to be involved in a programme called Project Rimaya. Rimaya is Arabic for “archery” and aims to increase participation in archery from people from BAME backgrounds, especially women and girls, across the Midlands. These demographics have historically had low levels of representation in Archery GB’s membership.

The project will include the establishment of weekly archery sessions leading to escalating levels of competition. In order to ensure that the project’s activities have a long-term sustainability, the second stage will see the establishment of new community clubs, providing opportunities for pupils and their families to continue in the sport of archery. The programme is funded by Sports Aid and will include the provision of equipment, facility hire, coach delivery and coach education.
