Gloucestershire Association of School Business Management
(GASBM) membership is open to all serving Business Managers, Bursars, School Administrators and Finance Officers in the Gloucestershire area.
We are a thriving group with membership of over 200 schools; meetings are held three times a year with a combination of presentations and, increasingly, workshop style discussions and training sessions. We also hold a large conference every two years at Cheltenham Racecourse with high profile speakers and exhibitors.
In addition we have a very successful and effective web forum which allows members to ask for support and advice on any aspects of school business management for example staffing, suppliers, policies and financial management.
We particularly work on a collaborative basis; we have self-support groups on topics of mutual interest such as procurement
We hold training sessions on a range of topics including Strategic Financial Planning, Managing Staff Reduction, Staff restructuring and redundancy, health and safety, legal compliance etc. We have developed a detailed Benchmarking tool covering many aspects of school operation, staffing and financial performance which has been taken up by the majority of Gloucestershire secondary schools.
