Level 7 Senior Leader Master’s Degree Apprenticeship

The Level 7 Senior Leader Degree Apprenticeship is a great way to take your development to the next level and gain a master’s degree. It is offered by higher educational institutes (HEIs) throughout the country.

The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education describe a leader as…

“Someone who has senior management responsibility, and this can include formal governance/director responsibilities. They are responsible for direction and vision, providing a clear sense of purpose and driving strategic intent. They take into account market trends and environmental influences, identifying longer-term opportunities and risks. Through inclusive leadership, they are responsible for developing ethical, innovative and supportive cultures with the ability to deliver results. They are a role model, with responsibility for those in senior positions/significant organisational budgets.”

Each HEI may offer a range of different degrees that are available as part of their Level 7 Senior Leader Degree Apprenticeship. Many offer a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).

Serco Education has developed a Level 7 Senior Leader Degree Apprenticeship for schools with the University of Gloucester. Click here to find out more.

"The key for me was to ensure that the off the job training was relevant, and of value to my work commitments – this way it didn’t feel like you were switching between work/study mode and also made me realise how much we grow and learn every day."

If starting a full masters degree sounds daunting, then you can work towards one by completing individual modules. We have partnered with the University of Chester to offer the Certificate in Strategic Educational Leadership, a short, accessible level 7 module for school business professionals who want to demonstrate their strategic educational leadership.
