Originally formed as SSBMA (Shropshire School Business Managers Association) back in 2003, the association was made up of secondary schools who met informally each term.
The association has grown over a number of years now to include primary, secondary and special schools – covering a mix of academies, free schools and maintained.
Recently it underwent a rebranding to encompass schools from across the border in Staffordshire and to reflect that you do not need to have the word manager / leader or director in your job title. We all know that no matter what your title you are doing the job and any support should be readily available for all to access and not feel that just because their job title does not reflect the association they are not eligible to join.
This job can sometimes be a lonely job and the support of each other is crucial to our sanity and survival in this high-pressured role – remember you are the glue that holds it altogether.
The group aim to meet 3 times per year for a one day ‘conference’ which includes CPD, presentations and group discussions.
We have an online forum page that is available for its members to access 24/7 – join our FAT club (Friday Afternoon Therapy) whereby you can get rid of the week’s stresses and strains before your leave the office, share best practice, ask questions, benchmark etc.
If you are interested in joining the group please go to www.seba.org.uk/signup or for any queries please contact me directly [email protected]
The group is approached by many businesses and suppliers, if anyone is interested in sponsorship / presenting please go to www.seba.org.uk/contactus
