We are looking for a Head of HR who is motivated by the challenge of leading and developing the HR function of the Trust, who shares our passion - making a difference across the education, health and care systems, and who is excited by the opportunity to positively contribute to the lives, life chances and opportunities of thousands of young people.
Wellspring is an established and growing Multi-Academy Trust with a difference, operating Primary, Secondary, Special and Alternative Academies across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the Humber. Alongside our core purpose - providing a sustainably outstanding and inclusive school experience for all - Wellspring delivers on a broader social responsibility agenda, adding value to the health and care systems within and beyond our learning communities.
Our people are our greatest asset and we are committed to maximising their engagement, professional autonomy and impact. We believe in the vital importance of ongoing professional training and development, and our Head of HR will make a significant contribution to the development of our workforce alongside Academy Principals, Executive Principals and the Trust Leadership Team.
Reporting to the COO and based at the Wellspring Support Centre in Barnsley, this high profile role will be responsible for the ongoing development and delivery of our HR strategy. The Head of HR will be required to balance operational and strategic work at both Academy and Trust level and will be a solutions-focused creative thinker who is able to analyse, risk-assess, negotiate and influence.
The postholder will be required to work with a wide range of stakeholders and to further strengthen our existing, high-performing HR team to meet the future needs of the Trust. You will support effective recruitment practice at Academy level and will ensure compliance, coherence, consistency and effective communication at Trust level.
We require a professional with a strong track-record of service delivery, who is CIPD qualified and who has a thorough knowledge of employment legislation and statutory requirements.
The role will involve regular travel to professional engagements throughout the region and is likely to involve some work outside of normal office hours.
