Are you looking for an exciting new challenge and the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of some very special children? If so then joining our happy school team may provide just what you are looking for.
Following the retirement of the current post holder Woolgrove School, Special Needs Academy, is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced person to take on the exciting position of Business Manager. The role is full time 37 hours a week (8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.15am to 3.45pm on Friday), term time plus an additional 4 weeks to be flexibly split between school holidays. A September start date could be accommodated for the ideal candidate, however an earlier start would be appreciated to allow a thorough hand over of the role.
Woolgrove chose to convert to a Single Academy Trust (SAT) in April 2012 and since then has become a successful, well managed academy. Financial and management systems are well established and we are maintaining a healthy financial position.
We are a happy, forward thinking special school for children with learning needs, autism and a variety of syndromes situated in Letchworth, North Hertfordshire. Woolgrove is “a special school for special children, where everyone is nice, we have lots of friends and we have fun” – pupil voice. "Teaching assistants and teachers work collaboratively and effectively" Ofsted, 2017.
We are looking for a hard working, committed and enthusiastic professional who understands how the provision of finance and resources can support and benefit our wonderful pupils. The role will be an exciting mix of strategic leadership and operational management where no two days will be the same. Flexibility, resilience and an ability to prioritise are essential, along with the confidence to remodel new ways of working and the skill to lead this change. Previous experience in education is desirable but not essential.
The successful candidate will:
Have a proven track record in leading and managing teams and resources
Be ambitious and well qualified
Be an excellent communicator and proven team player with a positive attitude and a good sense of humour
In return we will offer you:
A caring, creative, hard-working and supportive staff team
Development as a senior leader and a commitment to professional development as a School Business Manager
A collaborative environment aiming to achieve the best outcomes for all our pupils
