Salary: £18,945 per annum pro rata (actual salary £7,680.81)

Responsible to: Finance and Business Support Manager
Job outline:
To support the financial and accounting systems of the association. To support the delivery of financial advice and guidance and to ensure all financial tasks are completed in accordance with regulatory framework and agreed procedures. To be responsible for all financial processing related to the School Resource Management Adviser (SRMA) contracts to ensure the correct recovery of all costs and expenses in a timely manner.


Role-specific duties & responsibilities:
• Support the Finance and Business Support Manager in providing a high-quality financial management service with a focus on identifying risks and opportunities, informing the management decision process
• Support the SRMA Contract Support Officer on the administration of paperwork, ensuring correct information is corresponded to the contractor
• Act as initial point of contact to receive and deal with financial queries and enquiries relating to all SRMA billing
• Process all financial information, including making payments to suppliers, raising invoices and purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and data integrity
• Provide guidance and support to the team on the day-to-day operation of all SRMA financial information systems, processes and procedures as appropriate
• Contribute to the analysis of financial information in liaison with budget holders
• Support the Finance and Business Support Manager with development and monitoring of financial management information systems, where appropriate
• Monitor procedures in respect of checking and authorising accounts for payment, as part of the finance team
• Input and retrieve information and maintain accurate records
• Ensure all data entry, data management and reporting are delivered within agreed timescales
• Reconcile statements and accounts
• Liaise from time to time with the contracting organisation for the SRMA contracts

Key Competencies Essential Desirable
Qualifications and CPD
  • 5 GCSEs at grade A–C, including a minimum of grade C in maths
  • BTEC in finance or equivalent
  • AAT qualification or equivalent
Knowledge and experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a financial role
  • Knowledge and experience of operating financial and accounting systems and software
  • Experience of assisting in the management of purchase ledger and sales ledger
  • Experience in managing debtors, including chasing outstanding debts
  • Experience of working in a time-pressured environment with strict deadlines
  • Knowledge and experience of Sage System 200

  • Strong numerical and literacy skills
  • Ability to accurately manage processes for credit control, cashbook entries, invoices and purchase orders
  • Professional communication skills with the ability to communicate confidently with colleagues, members and external organisations
