Relocation: A relocation allowance may be available where the employee’s new home is reasonably close to the workplace and the former home is not.


Altus Education Partnership, based at Rochdale Sixth Form College, in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, is looking for an Operations Manager to provide further, strategic operational management support to our Trust as it grows and consolidates. The Altus Education Partnership is a Multi-Academy Trust established in April 2017 by the governing body of Rochdale Sixth Form College and currently includes the College and the soon to be opened Edgar Wood Academy, Middleton. You will lead and manage the operation of the Trust’s business to ensure that the functions, structures, working practices and contracts for IT Services, Estates, Health & Safety, and Procurement, are fit-for-purpose, best value, and serve the needs of the Trust as it grows and develops.  There is no requirement that you be a qualified teacher.


We would like the successful applicant to take up post ideally from January 2020, but we understand that we might need to be flexible regarding this date, to meet your notice requirements.


Altus is currently in conversation with a number of potential local partners about joining the Trust, and we are at the point where we need to develop our capacity to deliver the growth - and integration of that growth -envisaged by that strategy.


We are therefore looking for a well-qualified and skilled Operations Manager, ideally with experience in education, to lead and manage the operation of our organisation. The role will be varied, demanding and rewarding.  It is to ensure that IT Services, procurement, estates management, Health and Safety and GDPR compliance are cohesive, well-led, well-managed, and that the business is well-run.  You will be the strategic lead for the support staff in those areas, working directly for the Director of Finance and Resources.  You will also work with the relevant SLT leads at Rochdale Sixth Form College, Edgar Wood Academy and other schools as they join us.
