About the training

Our IOSH Accident Investigation and Report Writing Training Course is designed to provide you with an understanding of the legal, financial, and moral reasons for investigating accidents and incidents at work. You will learn how to complete an effective investigation to establish the root cause(s) of an incident.
This interactive one day course includes case studies, practical exercises, group and individual work.

There is no specific legal requirement to investigate accidents, but an accident investigation report will always be asked by civil litigation lawyers when defending a compensation claim following an accident involving injury and often from insurers when investigating damage incidents.

This training is delivered online, joining instructions will be emailed to you a few days before course starts, as well as a learner pack and course guide. The training is delivered through a combination of presentations, interactive Q&A sessions, group activities, and practical exercises.

Yes, in order to gain accreditation you will need to complete an assessment comprising multiple-choice questions lasting a maximum of 45 minutes.

There is an ISBL member rate and a non-member rate for all our training programmes. All rates quoted below are inclusive of VAT and per person:
