Membership Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Guidance
The completion of annual CPD is a requirement of ISBL membership. As a member, you must log your required CPD hours to demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development and maintenance of knowledge in line with your level of practice.
Guidance and the process for uploading CPD is detailed below.
More about uploading CPD
-
ISBL recognises that there are many forms of CPD not only achieved through formal training and qualifications.
You can download a copy of our CPD guidance if you require more information about what constitutes CPD.
-
As a member of ISBL you are required to complete a minimum number of hours of annual CPD. The membership categories and annual commitments are set out below (as detailed on the membership categories page):
Affiliate / Student / Foundation member - 7 hours
Associate member - 14 hours
Full member - 21 hours
Fellow member - 35 hours
-
We have made this a really simple process — you can now complete an annual spreadsheet listing the hours of CPD completed and then simply upload onto your login portal (as well as enabling yourself to keep a copy for your own records and annual appraisal).
You can access the CPD log and template through your SheepCRM membership portal or by clicking here. Alternatively, click here to download a copy of the CPD log template and upload when you are ready.
-
We request that members upload their CPD records for each academic year by 31st August (covering 1 September — 31 August).
From August 2024 all annual CPD logs must be uploaded into SheepCRM system.
-
As this is a new system, previous data uploaded has not been transferred but is retained by ISBL for audit purposes in line with GDPR. If any member requires a copy of CPD data previously supplied up to 2023, then this can requested by emailing training@isbl.org.uk.
