Accredited Qualifications

ISBL have worked closely with other leading professional bodies, universities and learning providers to provide SBPs with high quality, generalist and specialist qualifications that have been contextualised to meet the needs of the profession. Through contextualisation of qualification and assessment resources, we are able to ensure the learning becomes more relevant for SBPs.

As well as generalist qualifications, specialist qualifications and apprenticeships are increasingly popular in a wide range of industry sectors, not least of all the education sector, because they not only help to provide employees with-specific skills and expertise but can also demonstrate a commitment to training and career development. These qualifications can also give assurance of a school business professionals (SBPs) level of competency to both existing and new employers. If you would like more general information about SBP apprenticeships then click here.

With more and more schools joining to create new multi academy trusts (MATs) or joining existing ones, and the centralisation of support services, SBPs now have the opportunity to progress into specialist as well as generalist roles. These specialist roles often encompass one of the disciplines areas found in the ISBL Professional Standards e.g. Human Resources, Procurement, or Finance.

Listed below are accredited generalist and specialist academic qualifications, as well as apprenticeships, listed by practitioner level. If you are not aware of your practitioner level, then we would recommend that you complete a self-assessment of the ISBL professional standards.
